Easy Homemade Face Paint

It always happens- last minute your child changes their mind about their Halloween costume or has a malfunction and needs to find something else. While running out to the store is an option, there is a simpler answer and an easy fix sitting right in your home cabinet! You can make some simple homemade face paint with just a few items you most likely have around the house! My making your own face paint you can be assured of the ingredients so no allergies are aggravated and it allows your child to be anything they wish! Turn them into a scary monster, a joyful pirate, a creepy skeleton or a wicked witch in a breeze.

Homemade Face Paint Recipe

1 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. water
1/2 tsp. cold cream
Food coloring (variety of colors)
Sm. containers (one for each color paint)
Sm. paintbrush

Stir together the cornstarch and cold cream until well blended. Add water and stir. Add food coloring, one drop at a time until you get the desired color. Experiment with different colors. Pain on with a paint brush. Store in covered containers.

HALLOWEEN FACE PAINT

Cornstarch
Food coloring
Shortening (Crisco)

Mix together and paint face.

Halloween is just around the corner so it is time to start thinking about your Halloween costume for this year. There is nothing better than showing up at a gathering wearing a very scary Halloween costume. There are many to choose from and the scarier it is the better.

You can go with the traditional costumes that may seem to be scary to the children at Halloween time. Adults and older kids may choose to go one step further with their scary Halloween costume. A great way to do this is to purchase a lifelike mask or maybe even make your face looked chopped up using spirit gum and some wicked wound applications. While the masks that are available may look great and very scary, they also do not allow for easy drinking or smoking at a party.

Adding fake wounds to your face are great because they can be made to look like the real thing. Whether you decide to go with open wounds on the face or body or you decide on the pencil sticking out of your face you are sure to be a hit at the party.

Another great aspect of artificial wounds is that you can match them to your skin tone so that they look like they really belong where you put them. There are great makeup artist kits that will allow you to blend the paints to match your skin almost exactly.

Whether your intention is to scare your friends as you walk around on beggar’s night or to win a best costume contest at a bar, wearing a scary Halloween costume is the way to do it.
